Community Services
The Fenton Fire Protection District provides services other than just emergency responses. We strive to educate our citizens about fire prevention, first aid, child safety seats, and other safety issues.
Child Safety Seats
The Fenton Fire Protection District is dedicated to keeping you and your family as safe as can be. Your firefighters want you to learn about protecting kids from injury in crashes. The Fenton Fire Protection District is proud to be a child safety seat inspection station. We urge our residents to contact us at 636-343-4188 to set up an appointment.
More than 81 percent of child restraints are used incorrectly, including 88 percent of forward-facing toddler seats, 86 percent of rear-facing infant seats and 85 percent of safety belts, as determined at child passenger safety seat inspection stations across the country. (Child Passengers at Risk in America: A National Study of Restraint Use, National SAFE KIDS Campaign, 2002)
- The three most common mistakes in installing a child safety seat are:
- Not attaching the seat tightly to the car or truck
